Neighbours are just like family in today’s era of nuclear families. I have many neighbours and I am very fortunate that all my neighbours are very good. Here I would like to talk about my next door neighbour, Mr satinder Singh. I call him Joni uncle. I find him very interesting because one can never feel bored in his company. He has so many interesting stories to tell. I have known him for the past ten years as he moved into our neighborhood ten years ago. I see him every day because I daily go with him for morning walk.

He is in his eighties. He is not very tall but looks very good. Even at this age he looks very hale and hearty. He generally likes to wear Kurta pajama. I believe he is a good neighbour because he is always there whenever anyone needs him. He also helped me a lot in my studies. He treats me like his grandchild. Even though he taught history at college, he helped me in all subjects till my tenth class. He is very helpful to all people in the neighborhood. Whenever anyone comes to him for help, he is always willing to help.

He is a retired history teacher. He reads a lot and seems to know something about everything. During our morning walk he tells me many stories about his life. He is a self made man. He told me how he started from scratch after the partition and worked very hard to make a living. He has two sons who live in the States but he prefers to lead a simple life in his own home here. I love listening to his stories.

He also has a great sense of humor. He can lighten up any tense situation by cracking jokes. He has a magnanimous personality.He donates his entire pension for charity. He believes in simple living and high thinking. So, satinder singh is the person I like talking to the most.

There are different types of people live in the world together and they are featured with diversified characters. I have met Mr. Geffry Ramadin, a man of fun.

Mr. Geffry Ramadin is the man who will make you feel comfortable with his companion and you cannot stop laughing hearing his jokes and the way he talks. Basically, he is a computer engineer by7 profession and loves to travel. He is filled with vast experiences of travelling in different parts of the world. The middle-aged man becomes the centre of attraction wherever he starts talking. His experiences have made him a man with numerous unusual experiences and when he describes those, the listeners feel thrilled and simultaneously get fun for his interesting presentation style. He is not a joker but his speeches are filled with humour and you need to have the sense to taste the humour too.

I met him in the elevator of my apartment. I was waiting on the ground floor for the elevator and he was standing beside me. At first, we did not have talks but a few moments later, he started talking over the cellular phone. I came to know that he was the new tenant of the apartment opposite to mine.

Then we got introduced inside the elevator and invited him to be at my place for some tea breaks. He granted my invitation and then the complete introduction between us began. Mr. Ramadin has lived in different parts of the world for his occupational purposes and been hired by several globally renowned organisations. Since then, he is a senior friend of mine and shares numerous interesting issues.

When I pass moments with Mr. Ramadin, he teaches me different skills and tells me stories that were unknown to me. Sometimes, based on his mood, he tells the stories of African people and their living styles, their cultures and customs, how they have been exploited by the colonial rulers and survived, the current conditions of their life and many other similar facts. Besides, I have formed a network with few other neighbours in the apartment building to have chats regularly in the evening when everyone is back from their works. This is a type of recreational activity for us.

Mr. Ramadin is a man of letters. He also knows how to make people pleased. So, whenever I meet him, I become pleased after talking with him. When I become stressed for my work or for any other matters, I share my imbalanced mental and emotional states to him to get some advice to overcome the complexities. But before I complete the statements, he provides the solutions and it amazes me most. Whenever I apply the solutions or work according to the suggestions, it really works for me. The most important thing is that I cannot continue my imbalanced emotional atmosphere during the meets with him.

Mr. Andrew John (...use one of your neighbour"s name...) is one of the neighbours whom I like very much. Since I live in an urban area, people are close to each other and maintain a strong neighbourhood relationship, unlike the metropolitan area.

In our neighbour, we know almost each and every people living there, what they do, what are their updates, what are their profession and their overall personality and characteristics as well. Mr. John"s house is adjacent to ours and I meet him almost every day. Mr. John is a retired army person who is now around 50 years old.

He lives in his house alone and I have never found his relatives visiting him except some old colleagues. He stays inside his house most of the time and in the evening he sits in the veranda. He is a quiet man and likes to read a lot. I have seen him coming to live in his house almost 5-6 years ago. He bought the house from our previous neighbour.

I had had several conversations with him and I often play chess with him. I like to read as well and our reading habit was the primary reason we started liking our accompany each other. I like and admire this man very much. Though at first impression he seems to be an arrogant person, but in reality, he is an intelligent, calm, good-hearted and charming man. I have heard lots of stories from him.

He has travelled to many different places and has lots of experience. Since I have become close to him, he recommends me books that I mostly enjoy reading. He advises me whenever I seek for his guidance. He is sometimes a close friend, sometimes a mentor and sometimes a guardian. I like him because of our unclaimed friendship, his personality, honesty, morality and his great mind.

When I think of a person from another country, I think of my best friend Jeremy. Jeremy is Spanish and he was born in Spain. We met when we were in high school, he was only at my school for a year, but during that year we were always together and always up to mischief. I believe that Jeremy is the interesting person he is today because of his adventurous lifestyle as a child. He works as a wildlife photographer, so he is still travelling for many months of the year. He is becoming quite well known for his work these days and has even had some of his photographs featured in the magazine National Geographic.

I think that Jeremy hit the nail on the head when he said “you only live once, so live the life you want to live”. He inspires me to travel and see more of the world for myself too. This is why I applied to study abroad in Switzerland next October, I figured I could kill two birds with one stone by travelling and studying at the same time!

When I think of Jeremy I think of someone who has experienced a lot for someone of such a young age. He was wisdom beyond his years and he is such an interesting person!
